About ADA

More Than Football.

Football Development Academy (FDA) was created to provide young players with access to high-quality, structured football development — regardless of background, level, or current ability.

The academy exists because development should not be limited to a small group of “selected” players. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn properly, improve with confidence, and enjoy the process of becoming better.

FDA focuses on long-term development, education, and guidance, supporting players as they grow both on and off the pitch.

About the Founder

My name is Kieran Alman and I am the founder and head coach of FDA.

Football has been a central part of my life from a young age. Like many players, my own development journey was shaped by the opportunities available — and, in many ways, by the opportunities that weren’t.

As I grew older, I began to understand how much impact the right coaching, environment, and guidance can have on a young player’s development.

FDA was born from that understanding.

Experience & Qualifications

I have worked with young players across a range of ages and abilities, delivering structured coaching focused on development rather than short-term results both in Gibraltar and the UK.

My coaching journey begins at 17 with a local ladies team. I then trained, worked & qualified as a Community Sports Leader under some of the best sports mentors & coaches in the local sports authority to date. University then brought me the opportunity to learn at one of the top football academies in England in, Southampton FC. In 2013 I founded and directed a Pro Football Club in Gibraltar & successfully sold it years later to let it grow.  Since then, I have been coaching young players & worked as Head of Youth Development twice and coached within the local football association setup. Most recently I am pursuing education towards my ambition in qualifying as a football coach educator.

My Sporting Continuous Professional Development rewards so far includes:

UEFA B Licence

UEFA Safeguarding & First Aid

Elements of Sports Law - Universitat d'Barcelona

Level 3 Sports Coaching Diploma

PFSA Level one and two in Talent identification

Sports Development Level 3 Diploma

Community Sports Leadership Award L3

Coaching the Coaches - Coach Education via the Open University (on-going)

A personal message

Untitled design (7).png

FDA is more than a project for me — it’s my dream.

I didn’t grow up with clear football pathways, education around the game, or guidance on what opportunities could exist beyond just playing. Like many young people, I loved football, but I didn’t always know how far that love could take me or what options were available later on.

FDA exists because I want young players to have what I didn’t.

My commitment is simple: I will give everything I have to help children develop, not just as players, but as confident young people who understand the game and their place within it. I want players to fall in love with football at a young age, enjoy the journey, and grow with purpose.

As they get older, I want them to understand the different pathways football can offer — playing, coaching, education, and opportunities beyond Gibraltar and beyond the pitch.

This academy is built on care, patience, and belief.

Belief in development.
Belief in people.
Belief in what football can give when it’s done properly.
